Northcoders have recently partnered with InnovateHer to support an 8 week ‘web development’ themed programme at The East Manchester Academy, to enable 20 high-school girls in year 8 to learn digital skills and be inspired by industry role models. The aim was to empower them to have the confidence to pursue STEM subjects, Northcoders also provided role models to help lead the programme.

We are now thrilled to announce that we will be launching a further initiative in partnership with Northcoders. As part of this, we will provide a number of accessibility places for women aged 18+ on the Northcoders coding bootcamps, to tackle the underrepresentation of women in tech, and provide a life-changing opportunity to passionate women who would not otherwise be able to afford the up front cost of attending the 12 week bootcamp.

Currently 97% of Northcoders graduates are employed, within an average of 15 days of graduating. This could be a transformational experience for women who want to make a career change or are returning to work after a break.

To be eligible for this financial aid package, applicants must attend a InnovateHer coding workshop before applying.

The full eligibility criteria are as follows:

1. Applicant must have attended a full day coding course with InnovateHer which has been supported by Northcoders, in either Liverpool or Manchester.
2. Applicant must fill in a simple application form.
3. Applicant must have a passion and aptitude for coding.
4. Applicant must not have the means to access the bootcamp otherwise.
5. Applicant can pay the fully refundable deposit of £300 to commence the bootcamp.
6. Applicant must commit to paying back the course fees upon finding employment at the end of course. There is no interest added and the payments will be 10% of your salary each month – full terms and conditions available on request.
