This year has marked the beginning of a bold new chapter for InnovateHer. In 2024-25, we’ve reached our biggest milestone yet, empowering nearly 30,000 young people in one year alone, taking us to 80,000 since 2017. For a small but mighty team, this is something we are incredibly proud of, but our work is far from done.
This year, we’ve seen a younger generation be inspired by what we do with primary schools joining our events and hosting our Inspiring Assemblies. More than ever, there’s a desire for careers and specifically careers in tech to be talked about from a younger age, and we couldn’t agree more.
For us it isn’t about the numbers alone; it’s about what those numbers represent.
The more students and schools we reach the greater the social impact we have. Many of the young people we work with are from disadvantaged communities, on free school meals or from schools where tech has never felt like an option. That’s why 44% of our schools are in areas we’ve identified as most in need and 53% of the students we work with are on free school meals (FSM).
The most exciting shift this year has been beginning our deep dive into AI. This technology is transforming not just the future of work, but the future of society and young people must be prepared to understand it, shape it and thrive within it. From government conversations, hosting our own series of roundtables, to small business collaborations, we’ve been listening and learning so we can equip our students with the skills and confidence they’ll need to be part of this and we’re so excited for what’s coming next!
Our work has never been about short-term wins. It’s about lasting change: embedding role models in schools, supporting teachers, influencing subject choices and helping partners shift workplace cultures. Together, we’re not just closing the gap, we’re reimagining what’s possible for the next generation.
