Innovate Her Online – What The Press Are Saying.

In April 2020 we launched our new online Tech For Good programme. 6 weeks, 3 expert industry mentors and 3 cohorts later, students have developed their confidence in having careers in tech, and we couldn't be prouder.

It was in our 3 year business plan to become an e-learning provider, but we got our pilot programme ready in just 3 weeks. This is an online version of the programme we’ve been delivering in schools for over 4 years.

Our new online initiative has been enhanced further by our fabulous community. The Prince’s Trust helped us to provide free devices and dongles for those students who needed them, paying it forward to help remedy the digital divide, which COVID19 has made even more desperate.

Partners such as Active Profile and The Co-op both donated places to enrol students onto our course for free, gifting them an education that they may not have had otherwise.

We’re delighted to say that our first three cohorts were a huge success, and after being loud and proud about our journey on our social media, the press began to hear our story!

Firstly, Manchester Based Prolific North covered it, with a focus on our partnership with Prince’s Trust.

Secondly, The Business Desk, proudly known as ‘the fastest growing business media in the UK’, covered our story in a well rounded ‘Coronavirus business update’.

Lastly, Business Cloud, a tech inspired platform also featured us.

But perhaps most importantly is what the students say about us. We asked each graduate from our first 3 cohorts to fill in a survey about their experience, and the feedback delighted us.

See below for our reviews:

We are delighted to announce that we are now taking applications for our next cohort, which is due to start on Thurs 6th August.

No experience? No device? No funding? No problem. All girls, including trans and non binary teens are welcome to apply to our programme. We offer free places to students on pupil premium at school, and as mentioned above, we work with Prince’s Trust to supply laptops and dongles to those in need.

If you want more information on how to enrol, donate or just get involved please head here

If you are in need of a device to assist your child’s learning during this difficult time, please see our resource list here of businesses that are helping to close the digital divide.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us to make our dream of an online platform become a reality. We’ve got a long journey ahead of us to develop it further, but we’re confident that with our community backing us, we can only succeed.

The InnovateHer team.
