Our Regional Air Business

BAE Systems Regional Aircraft provides managed solutions for aircraft design, engineering and fleet support to a global customer base. The Engineering portfolio is diverse and includes projects ranging from support to new aircraft development programmes, major special role aircraft development programmes and modification/upgrade to a range of fixed wing aircraft types. Following recent contract successes across the Engineering product range, we are looking to enhance key capabilities to support existing contracts and further growth in all areas.

Systems Analyst

An opportunity has arisen for a Systems Analyst to be based in Samlesbury working within the AIR IM&T Export Control Transformation Team.

As a System Analyst, you will be supporting a wide range of IM&T projects led by AIR. The successful candidate will be able to integrate with the customer community, IM&T Competency Centres and IT Partners.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to make a real impact to project delivery, each project offers a range of diverse challenges, which means no Two days are the same.  It will also give you exposure to a wide range of stakeholders within BAE Systems and their suppliers.

Your main responsibilities as a Systems Analyst will involve:

  • Engaging with customers and stakeholders to capture business needs and solution requirements.
  • Capturing the as-is and to-be application, data and technology architectures for multiple projects.
  • Defining the solution options and the optimum design to meet requirements.
  • Liaising with software venders and development teams
  • Supporting solution delivery through adoption of adaptive (iterative and agile) approaches.
  • Ensuring consistency and integrity of the solution implementation through overseeing the solution development process.
  • Working effectively with the Project Managers to support the development of the project plan, identifying dependencies, risks and mitigations.
  • Ensure solutions fit enterprise environment, BAE governance and standards for security and data protection

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

•           Proven experience in delivering IM&T solutions together with associated architecture deliverables.

•           Hands-on experience with business and system requirements gathering / analysis.

•           Very good written and oral communication skills.

•           Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.

•           Proven experience in design, development, test and release of Information Systems.

Desirable:

  • Agile methodologies experience
  • Familiarity with IT trends and good practice
  • Knowledge of Export Control processes, procedures and toolsets
  • Knowledge of SQL, TDV, Semarchy, Visio, Bizagi, ASSIST4 , TCM (Trade Compliance Management), Infor LN, Jira, JCR, USEC DB, SDIM
  • Understanding of the service lifecycle e.g. ITIL.
  • Experience of Data and Analytics and use of supporting BI toolsets

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, proactive individual with a good IT background and the ability to communicate confidently at all levels. You will have the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders and present ideas in a user-friendly language. Experience of working in a team orientated, collaborative environment is essential, and you must be able to prioritise and execute tasks working across multiple projects in parallel.

Salary: £44,238.00 +
