£45,000 – £51,000 plus benefits (Work level 5)

We’re currently working remotely due to covid. The future will see us working in a hybrid way, with home working sitting alongside use of the office for team collaboration.

We’re looking for a service lead to join our service management and operations team, within Co-op’s brand-new technology function. It’s an enterprise systems management role, in which you’ll be integral to the management of our business service applications and IT systems, such as SAP, JDA and Manhattan, to name a few. As our service lead you’ll focus on enterprise service management at Co-op, at an exciting time as we embark on a service management tooling strategy programme of change. We’ll look to you to help shape and select our tooling choice, and how it’ll be used throughout our Co-op. All of this alongside your day to day role, making sure our services are managed and monitored in an appropriate way, service owners are well informed, and actions are taken accordingly.

What you’ll be doing

• lead and drive the delivery of service management visualisation
• make sure the underlying element managers are running at full capability and delivering the results expected
• ensure existing business services under your control, are maintained, up to date and monitored in the correct way
• liaise with key partners and colleagues, across our Co-op businesses, on updates, issues, and any potential disruption to service
• liaise with supporting teams i.e. 24/7 or major incident teams, on live issues
• work on key projects that come into the team, as a key expert
• optimise day to day resource management – making best use of an expert team of service management specialists

This role will suit someone who has

• demonstrable experience and a strong background of business enterprise tooling across Linex and Wintel environments
• experience working with cloud-based technologies
• a proven technical IT service management background
• a strategic mindset and ability to work on implementation across organisations, with a variety of structures
• experience partnering with IT suppliers and maximising opportunities alongside maintaining and developing a positive relationship
• a passion for shaping change and the direction of travel
• a background in managing a team ideally, although this doesn’t have to have come from direct line management
