Network Security Engineer
Key purpose of the role
The ITS network is undergoing a period of growth adding and developing new services and features and building its national network across the country. A Network Security engineer with experience of carrier class vendors and networks is required to develop and build the ITS Security architecture. This is a varied role which includes elements of Security Design, Build and Operation. The role will cover aspects of Network, Systems and Services security and be a focal point for network security within the business.
Key Accountabilities
- Shape ITS technical security and architecture
- Design and implement security solutions
- Engage with security vendors to discuss current capabilities and future strategy
- Engage with operational teams to implement security designs
- Embed security best practice within engineering and wider business areas
- Work with IOC to proactively and reactively monitor for security related incidents

Person Specification Overview
Experience
Essential
- Telco/Enterprise security operations centre or security engineering/operations role
- Experience of modern NGFW infrastructure and network firewalling hardware and platforms
- Experience of security solutions for on-premise and cloud based services
- SSCP, CISSP or CISM security certifications or applicable experience
Desirable
- CCNP/JNCIP or applicable experience
- Knowledge of telecoms industry fibre products and services
- Network systems experience
- Linux/Unix scripting
