Cloud Native Engineer

The successful candidate will support our continued growth and must be adaptable and able to think independently, outside of the box to define and develop cloud native solutions. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to join the business and we are looking for a Cloud Native Engineer who has proven and extensive experience in a similar role to hit the ground running. The candidate must have an advanced knowledge of Cloud Native & DevOps cultures, contributing a wealth of expertise and experience in these practices, ways of working and methodologies. This must include knowledge and experience of CI/CD to maximise development efficiency and quality. The Cloud Native Engineer must also have experience of working within an Agile delivery framework.

Key Responsibilities

You will assist in defining processes and standards, following Open-Source best practices and keep abreast of industry technology trends.This role will report directly into the Global Cloud & Hosting Platforms Manager. You will be a team player working alongside a team of multi-disciplined, highly skilled engineers, so the ability to be able to effectively communicate and collectively achieve our goals, objectives and ongoing strategies are a must.

You will be responsible for the build and development of our products and platforms before they are transitioned into the 24 x 7 BAU support teams. Activities will include system design consulting, developing software platform frameworks, automation, testing deployment and release.

With a strong understanding of enterprise level security, secure development and use of security tools to provide efficient development of robust code and automated assurance.

You will scale systems sustainably through automation mechanisms and evolve systems by advocating for changes that improve reliability and release velocity.

In this role you will have the ability to express your passion for cloud native technology, you will have opportunities for career development and on-going training.

Skills (Essential):

  • Excellent knowledge of Cloud Native Technologies.
  • Experience with Public Cloud & Multi Cloud Services. (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD best practices.
  • IaC – Terraform.
  • Ansible.
  • Containers – Kubernetes.
  • Cloud security awareness.
  • Strong knowledge in automation delivery

Skills (Desirable):

  • DevOps.
  • Jenkins.
  • GitHub.
  • Ansible.
  • Hold any relevant Public Cloud Certifications.
  • Python.
  • Microservices / Serverless Technologies.
  • Hyper Converged Infrastructure.
  • VMware.
