Senior Digital Analyst

About the Role

Matalan are looking for a Senior Digital Analyst to join their eCommerce team here at Matalan Head Office. As a Senior Digital Analyst you will play a key role in bringing together and telling the holistic story on digital performance and how their customers shopping behaviours online and instore.

You will drive actionable insight focusing on improving the online customer journey, become an advocate of digital data and drive engagement within the wider teams.

They have ambitious online growth plans in the next 3 years and this role will play a key part in driving data driven changes. They’ve also set out a data strategy which involves pushing the boundaries of digital analytics and have ambitions to become leaders within this field, driving actionable and innovative data solutions.

As part of the Ecom Digital Analytics team, you will be pivotal to identifying online business objectives and how these should be measured. You will formulate relevant hypothesis and identify the data methodology needed to answer them. This will involve working with tools such as Google Analytics, Big Query and SQL Server to surface robust insight.
You will need to be able to present your findings to a Senior audience in a clear and concise manner with the help of data visualisation tools. You will also collaborate with insight function at Matalan.
You love working with data and are comfortable working with large structured and unstructured datasets.
You revel in the challenge of making complex data simple and are always on the lookout for new ways of doing things.
You like working in a fast paced environment and are driven by the desire to improve the online purchasing experience for their customers.

About the Role

Worked as a senior analyst or similar
Experience with attribution modelling and driving change on the back of insight
A proven track record of delivering large data analysis projects for leading within a challenging retail environment
Proven record of using Google Big Query or other SQL cloud based systems
Advanced practical knowledge of statistical tools such as R and SQL and visualisation tools such as Tableau/Data Studio/Power BI
Practical knowledge of languages such as R, Python and SQL
Experiencing joining different datasets (e.g. web, CRM, social) to conduct comprehensive reporting and analysis.
Working knowledge of web analytics tools such as Google and Adobe Analytics
Previous leadership experience, including responsibility for junior team members
Extensive experience working with senior stakeholders
An understanding of Google Tag Manager and how they can get the most out of this from an analytics perspective
Extensive Knowledge of CRO and measuring impact of experiments
